  • After brunch, you will begin your journey from Manali to Kaza.
  • You will travel via the famed Atal Tunnel before entering the magnificent brown-badland region that surrounds Chatru and Batal.
  • At 15000 feet, you will experience your first cold before descending into Losar Settlement, the first town in Spiti Valley. Stop for a quick break in Losar and have a hot cup of tea and some food. After warming up a cup of tea, visitors will keep driving through the breathtaking scenery until you reach Kaza.
  • You will spend the night in Kaza in a pleasant hotel.

Meals

  • To begin, you will go to Komik. You will next explore Hikkim to see the world’s highest post office. After mailing out a postcard, you’ll go to Langza, known for its Lang Temple, which is said to be approximately 1100 years old.
  • You will then return to Kaza during lunchtime. Then you’ll go to the world-famous Ki Monastery, tucked between the mountains in the bowl-shaped valley of the little settlement Langza in Spiti Valley.
  • You will then travel further up the slope to the charming town of Kibber, where you will be able to appreciate the vast expanses of stunning landscapes and the incomparable majesty of the snow-capped mountains.
  • Drive further up from Kibber to the remote town of Gette. Later return to Kaza in the night to spend the evening at the hotel.

  • Begin your travel to Tabo; explore the 1020-year-old Tabo Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its historical paintings that blend western Tibetan, Indian, and Kashmiri traditions.
  • After a few hours at Tabo, going for around 25 kilometres before turning into Dhankar, a little hamlet high above the Spiti and Pin Rivers junction.

Frequently asked questions

It would help if you planned an 8-day journey to Spiti Valley since it takes five days to reach Spiti from Kinnaur and five days to return from Manali. So having three more days will allow you to visit the villages of Pin Valley, Hikkim, Langza, Komic, and Kibber surrounding Kaza.

Domestic (Indian) visitors do not need permission to visit Kinnaur - Spiti. To be secure, bring a valid picture ID evidence of your nationality if you are Indian.

The summertime of March-June is the most fantastic time to visit Spiti because of the lovely weather and the lower visitors. October through February are ideal for a lovely winter holiday in Spiti.
