About Laka Glacier Trek
Let's be honest and confess that no matter how excited we become about an everlasting trek journey plan with our friends in the mountains, most of us are scared. We imagine ourselves struggling to take every step hoping for the trek to finish as soon as possible while gasping every breath like it is the last one.
Yeah, that glimpse is frightening to view. But what can be done about our love for the mountains? Because that's where the piece is. Those massive, majestic, mesmerising mountains slowly take us to their undisputed lands through the exotic forest, showering us with their soothing sounds, which don't feel disturbing. And yeah, trekking doesn't seem to be an easy job to pull off, but that is how you get to see the view that makes all efforts worth it. The right approach to this challenge is here in this travelogue as it unveils a moderate yet adventurous trek into the Laka Glaciers of the Dhauladhar ranges of Himachal mountains. You surely want to experience it.
The Laka Glacier Trek starts from the Mcleodganj Bhagsu Nag taxi stand. It takes you on an exciting mountain journey through waterfalls, forests, and breathtaking views of clouds travelling and enveloping the mountain tops while your feet are on the edges now and then, making it more adventurous than surpassing your expectations.

The distance between Laka Glacier and Triund is around 6 km, and depending on the individual's fitness and speed, it would take about 5 hours to reach there.
Since both the locations are highly remote and exclusive and entirely under weather influence, both places don't offer mobile or internet connectivity.
Despite the high altitude and exclusive trek experience the trek offers, it is still one of the easy to moderate hikes that are entirely suitable for beginners, except for the last few kms. If you have high altitude sickness, we recommend you take your prescribed medication with you.
Trekking the Laka glacier involves some steep paths along the way, and we recommend the below-mentioned kit to pack along: Comfortable trekking shoes. A reliable pair of sports shoes will do if you don't have one. LED torch/headlamp as you would be camping in the night Rain gear as the weather keeps changing Trekking pole Windcheater and jacket Power bank
